About Calliope
“To provide a medium for creative expression…”
Named for the eldest of the Muses of Greek mythology, Calliope (pronounced “kuh-lai-uh-pea”) was officially chartered in 1981, and has been guided through the decades by the goal of celebrating the work of New Trier High School’s talented student artists. Each year, Calliope members work to gather submissions in a wide variety of visual art media, created by students from all grade levels. We then work as a team to curate a selection of artwork, designing an annual publication that documents a year of artistic expression at New Trier. As we approach our 40 year anniversary, we are excited to see our beloved publication make the leap from print to online, where we hope to reach our fellow students as well as the larger New Trier community and beyond.
